Yunjin Interview Still Looking For Love

“We immigrated to the U.S. when I was 10, and my parents sold things from a trailer. We lived in it, too. These days stars ride and move in trailers. They rest, do their makeup and change their clothes in them. So when I got my first trailer, even though I was supposed to be happy, it reminded me of my past.”

Kim Yun-jin, the star of the smash U.S. hit TV show “Lost”, was in Korea in time for the release of her book, “The World is Your Drama”, and to work on the upcoming movie “Seven Days.” When the Chosun Ilbo met her for an interview at KOFIC Namyangju Studios in Gyeonggi Province, she kicked off the talk by asking, “What’s it like to see me in person?”

Do you have any complexes about your appearance?

“I seem to have found a few after I arrived in Korea. The standards of beauty are a little different. My nose should be a little smaller and sharper, but it’s round. Some people have suggested plastic surgery, but I’m already known as how I look and it’d be weird if I changed my appearance now. I may not be perfect but I have my own charms, too.”

OQuinn Promotes Lost in Monte Carlo

Lost star Terry O’Quinn has clearly been affected by the lush vegetation of the Hawaiian island of Oahu, where the cult series is filmed. Attending a photo call at the Monte Carlo TV festival the actor, who plays the enigmatic John Locke, ignored seating laid out to accommodate the famous guests, heading instead for the more familiar ‘jungle’ ambiance offered by a nearby potted palm.

The actor - who’ll soon return to the real jungle to begin filming series four of Lost - was among a host of leading men spotted at the four day-event in the principality.

Yunjin’s Book A Success

Yunjins Book A Success

Yunjin Kim has published the moving story of her rise to Hollywood stardom. “The World is Your Drama,” published earlier this month by Hainaim, is looking like it will be a best-seller.

The book, which Kim wrote herself, tells of her struggles in Hollywood and her aspirations of becoming a world star. The first run of 7,000 copies sold out in one week, thanks in part to favorable reviews on Yes24 and other websites.

Following the book’s warm reception, the publisher is rushing to turn out a second printing, with an additional 5,000 copies headed for shelves soon.

One of Kim’s close confidants said, “The story of Kim fulfilling her heart’s dream, even though she started out totally ignorant about Hollywood, is making a big impression on readers. She wrote the book for eight months despite a very busy schedule, so it’s good to see it get positive results. All the profits from the book will go to help the needy.”

Buddy TV Writes:

Last year LOST was famously snubbed at the Emmys in most of the major dramatic award categories. Some blamed it on LOST outing itself with more straight sci-fi elements, others noted the unevenness of the season, most, however, blamed a new voting system that seemed to favor newcomers over consistency. In the blogosphere, the debate raged that LOST’s descent into formula and the mishandling of major reveals validated its omission from the major characters, while stalwart fans were incredulous over the Emmy snub. With a redeeming third season behind it, many considering it the best season of LOST ever, the fan’s, as well as the creator’s, hopes are galvanized once again. We have some early word on what LOST producers may be submitting for Emmy consideration, and the selection looks diverse, and good.

For the big category, Outstanding Drama Series, producers submit the episode that defined their creation at its apex. This year LOST producers have selected the third season finale “Through the Looking Glass,” written by LOST show runners Damon lindelof and Carlton Cuse and directed by Executive Producer/LOST Veteran Jack Bender, as the prime example of their achievements this season.

Jorge at 2007 ALMA Awards

Jorge Garcia appeared at the 2007 NCLR ALMA Awards, held a couple of days ago in Pasadena, CA. When Jorge appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show last month, he said he was going to spend the hiatus mostly chilling at home in Hawaii, but said that he would take a few weekend getaways. If I were him, living in Hawaii, I would stay put too!

Lost will make its High-Definition DVD debut this December with the release of the third season on Blu-ray.

Among the extensive bonus features on the seven-disc set are a documentary chronicling twenty-four hours in the production of the show, a one-on-one interview with star Matthew Fox, a selection of never-before-seen flashbacks, additional behind-the-scenes looks at ten episodes, audio commentaries, deleted scenes, bloopers and more.

No tech specs nor pricing details are yet available for the Blu-ray version of ‘Lost: The Complete Third Season,’ as Disney has not yet issued any sort of official press release or announcement for the set. We’ll certainly keep you posted as soon as further details are confirmed.

Lost was ranked as this year’s #2 best TV show in High-Definition, according to TVPredictions.com

Charlie didn’t have to die!

Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse has explained the decision to kill off the popular character of Charlie Pace at the end of the third season.

In an interview with TV Guide in the US, Cuse stated that axing Dominic Monaghan from the show was dictated by the narrative.

“We felt like we needed to pay off Desmond’s prognostications. We thought about various ways in which that could pay off, but, ultimately, we came to the conclusion that the best version of the story was for Charlie to die.”

“We felt like we had told the biggest and most important parts of Charlie’s story. He was an addict; he recovered from his addiction; he found some meaning and purpose in his relationship with Claire. It just felt like this was the best path for this character.”

Branding Monaghan a “wonderful guy and a terrific actor,” Cuse admitted that it was “very hard to say goodbye to Dominic.”

Holloways Cool Water Ad

Check out these two ads for Cool Water featuring Josh Holloway. The actor told WWD he recently starting wearing Cool Water again after not using it for several years:

“My wife’s got a crush on me again,” he said, smiling. Holloway added he’d be open to working on his own line of products, if the opportunity arose.

“But it would probably not be as elegant as Cool Water,” he joked. “It’d be more like Man Juice.”

The Lost season finale was a ratings heavyweight, and actually managed to take a little swagger from American Idol’s step. While not coming anywhere near the estimated 30-plus million that tuned in for Idol’s finale, Lost seems to have prevented the ‘talent’ show from reaching its usual apex. As for the question of how many people came back to Lost to see the series off, somewhere in the neighborhood of two to three million additional viewers tuned in for the critically lauded finale.

Lost was able to hold a respectable 7.3/11 against a 19.1/30 for Idol to hold second place for the 9:00pm portion of its finale. Not bad considering some analysts in looking at Lost’s trends this season, had predicated that Lost would sink to single digits against Idol. The fact that Lost remained close to its 10:00pm average for the season against Idol’s finale bodes well for fans who are hoping that Lost will return to its 9:00pm time slot next season.

For the time being that slot belongs to the Grey’s Anatomy spin off, Private Practice. Competitors for 9:00pm include NBC’s Science Fiction venture Bionic Woman, which re-imagines the classic 70’s series of the same name, and CBS’s Criminal Minds. A mix of genres that should make the time slot a very interesting battleground.

Among those blown away by Wednesday’s season finale of Lost was cast member Michael Emerson, who plays arch-villain Ben. We caught the actor at last night’s Brittania Ball on the Queen Mary 2. Now that the episode’s aired, Emerson was able to be more forthcoming than he was when we interviewed him earlier this week — except that he’s just as flummoxed as the rest of us about what lies ahead for the Lost ones.

Now that the finale has aired, do you have any freaking clue what’s going to happen when you start shooting again?
No, because I didn’t know what the end of the episode was until I watched it. That was a secret scene with Jack and Kate — only Matthew [Fox] and Evangeline [Lilly] were given that text and it was shot in secret. I had to wait until last night to have this earth-shattering revelation: Now not only are we going to live in the present and the past, but also the future. And the little things they dropped made my hair stand on end!

Like what?
Kate and Jack got off the island somehow, but other castaways didn’t, and they’re sick about it. And who’s in the coffin? And who is Kate living with?
