Lost’s Matthew Fox Shines in We Are Marshall
Nov 22nd, 2006
While Lost fans scratch their heads over what to do at 9:00 tonight, preview audiences of “We Are Marshall“, which made some test screenings last night, have the perfect job in mind for Lost’s leading man Matthew Fox: Movie Star.
Reception to the film, which chronicles the astonishing rebuilding of a football team killed in a freak airplane crash, has been overwhelmingly positive; with much of the praise being targeted at Lost Matthew Fox.
With rampant rumors that (avert your spoiler irritated eyes) Fox is leaving LOST shortly to pursue a film career, the praise is a sweet counter-punch to the critics who claimed Fox didn’t have what it takes to make it on the big screen.
Lost fans themselves have become bored with what seems to be a two-dimensional take on the character of Jack through the critically lambasted, but still mega-successful, second season. This prompted Lost writers and Fox himself to struggle to bring more dimension to the character throughout the six week mini-season that kicked off season three.
“Marshall” would seem to indicate that Fox has honed his craft to perfection with more than one critic using the word “Oscar” in the same sentence as Fox’s name. The film itself, which debuts December 22nd, is expected to leave a mark on the genre of sports-drama meeting the highest expectations of both a tear-jerker and a feel-good comeback rarely seen in one package.

Rumor has it that Lost star Matthew Fox, 40, and his wife Margherita are expecting their third child. However, his rep is strongly denying it at this time.
The “Lord of the Rings” star was in a foul mood after spotting a photographer shooting him surfing in Hawaii. The photog, who one source claims was his neighbor, was snapping pics of Dominic Monaghan on his long board just off the shore before the “Lost” actor stepped out of the water to confront him.
