Dominic Monaghan's Script Ideas RejectedActor Dominic Monaghan’s attempts to clarify the plot of complicated TV drama LOST have been dismissed by producers.

The 29-year-old, who plays rocker and heroin addict Charlie Pace, thinks the desert castaways are at the mercy of a bitter billionaire wreaking revenge for past wrongs. But The Lord Of The Rings star’s ideas fell on deaf ears with directors. He says, “One of the theories I came up with was that we’d all in some way p**sed off some huge billionaire. “He’d managed to get us all on a plane and have it crash into this island so that he could watch us from his castle with hidden cameras and create a Truman Show nightmare for us all. “Maybe I’d s**gged his daughter, or Evangeline (Lilly)’s character, Kate, had stolen money from his bank, or Josh (Holloway)’s character Sawyer, had fandangled money out of him. “But the idea got pooh-poohed by the writers.”

Josh Holloway May Star in Next 'X-Men' MovieLost star Josh Holloway is being tipped to star in the next X-Men movie as fan favorite Gambit. Holloway, who plays Sawyer on the hit TV show, was set to star as Gambit in X-Men: The Last Stand but pulled out because of TV commitments.

But it’s reported the model/actor will star in the next installment, which will not feature many of the film’s original stars, including Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen and Halle Berry.

The film’s producer Lauren Schuler Donner tells Moviehole, “Remember in Lost? There was a guy in there that was the perfect Gambit, the guy with the straight hair, good-looking, the bad boy… Sawyer. The reason we didn’t use Gambit was because in a sense his persona is a bit like Wolverine in that he’s got attitude and his power is not quite as exciting as the others.

“That’s why we went to Nightcrawler on 2 because he looked different than everybody else and he had a great power. So yes, I think we would weave Gambit within our story, (but) it wouldn’t be The Gambit Movie”.

Gambit possesses the ability to charge objects with energy, causing them to explode.

Evangeline LillyLost beauty Evangeline Lilly almost abandoned her successful acting career, because she struggled to deal with the trappings that come with being famous. The 27-year-old admits the pressure to be thin almost gave her a nervous breakdown in 2004, when she felt she needed to “get away from it all”.

She says, “I called my parents and said, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong. I don’t know if I can keep going in this industry.’ “I just wanted to get away from it all. I never wanted to be a big film star. I just wanted the comfort of having a job I love. “The pressure to stay thin is enough to make you go insane. I was overworked and undernourished.” But the star reckons she’s fully recovered, thanks to her mantra, “I am what I am,” which she repeats 20 times each day. She says, “I know it’s cheesy, but it reminds me if people don’t like who I am, that’s OK.”

60 SECONDS: Jorge Garcia

Jorge Garcia interviewActor Jorge Garcia stars as Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes in Lost – the protracted mystery show that’s moved from Channel 4 and starts its third series on Sky One on Sunday at 10pm. Before Lost, Garcia starred in a US hospital-based sitcom. Lost is famed for its unresolved plots – such as why a polar bear is running around a tropical island and the creepy black smoke that haunts the plane crash survivors.

Will we ever find out what the mystery in Lost is all about?

Yeah, at some point.

When?
It’s not going to be episode one of series three.

How long will it drag on for?
I dunno. I think the goal was to do five seasons in total but it’s hard to guess.

Are the writers making it up as they go along, or is there a master plan?
No, there is a master plan but if they want to tell the story in five years and we’re still a successful show, the network will want to keep the show going. The writers and producers need to fulfil their contract with the network. They want to tell a story but don’t know how long they have to tell it, so they have to guess.

The show’s lost about 2million British viewers since the start of series one to now. Will it have any viewers left in two years?
We’re still doing pretty good. Viewing figures aren’t something I think about. When we first started we had the best of both worlds – diehard fans who were always talking about the show on the Internet and a big overall audience of casual viewers. Our figures are still pretty big – we have room to lose a million viewers and still be considered a hugely successful show.

I’ve never had a problem getting work, I know what I can do and it’s just a matter of getting people to see me.

How far in advance do you know what’s going on?
I know what’s going on up until episode eight of season three but that’s just because I’ve shot those episodes. I’ve no idea where the big picture’s going.
